Quiet Lights

Things start to get a bit warmer. >>

I really like the way the bottom panel turned out.

I’d have more to say, but it’s 4am here and I’m exhausted.

Also, as of this week, V101 will be updating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

So What Now?

I plod along now. Small inspirations hit me here and there, and so I’ll share them with you.

Spent a really long time on this one. Tried to make it as smooth as I could, but it doesn’t seem like it much. Hope ya like it anyhow.

Reaching the Far Side of My Rope

It’s been a difficult week. Many things happened and it became rather difficult for me to even think about trying to draw. Truth has reached my ears and it burned out my skull. I mean, I knew it was coming, but I had hoped it’d wait a few weeks before coming to a head. Also, it’s just been hard for me to figure out new strips lately. I’ve just lost the desire to tell stories with these characters, I still love them, it’s just been hard to write for them. The comic was an experiment for me, to see if I could actually manage to do one of these in a theme that I enjoyed in the beginning. But Fantasy is my calling, I love that genre a bit more that I do superheroes/villains.

This has all been a long way of saying that I’m not sure with my current state of mind that I even want to continue the strip. The support from you guys has been amazing, and I really do appreciate it. It becomes difficult to put into words the joy of waking up and seeing that people have responded to my stuff in a positive manner. It’s just that I’d like to write a long-form comic a bit more right now. It comes down to this: when I sit down to draw the strip, I end up coming up with a thousand other things to do then just drawing out the motherfucker. Motivation, it seems, has left me bereft of willpower. I’m gonna make another go at it, hell, I still have a strip half finished on my computer. I load it up and then come up with some excuse as to why doing anything else would be a better use of my time.

It’s hard to explain, but I hope you guys get it. There is a large possibility that the next strip will be one of the last ones I do for V101. All I can do is follow my passion to where it wants to be, and I can only hope that you’ll follow me on that journey.

On a different note, we recently had one of our computers crash on us and it was the one we used to record the podcasts. Thus, no podcast this week, but we are working on getting it up and running and hopefully, we’ll have a bright and shiney brand spanking new podcast for you nex week

A Question Answered

Summer answers the burning question I’ve been getting emails about. I always planned on showing you guys at some point.

So, I’ve been working on updating the art for the top banner, the frontpage, and the About pages. It’s sorta consumed my time lately. Realized how late I was in updating the site and started to draw the strip very late in the evening. So, sorry it’s so late.

But, yeah, keep an eye out for the new art cropping up around the site. Probably will update the gallery with all the pieces I’ve been putting up on my dA, FA, and HF galleries. Need to get with Chad about that though.

In other news, I watched the “Dante’s Inferno” animated movie…it was okay. Not great, just okay. The changes in the art style as the movie progresses is a bit annoying and it was hard for me to see past that. Like, in one scene Dante has long hair, in the next he has close cropped hair, or suddenly his silhouette would get beefier and more bulky. I’d recommend renting/streaming it before slapping down some shekels to purchase it.

Also watched “Pagemaster”, which is a movie that I have not seen for what feels like forever. I was very apprehensive about watching it though, I felt that it would taint my childhood view of it and I’d cease to enjoy the movie. But I did end up watching it, and I was very happy that it kept up with my expectations of it and I didn’t get to the end of it hating it. That made me happy.

Also, the new Podcast that’s up has a contest in it for those that’d like to win some art.
